Leaving your dog behind when you travel is never easy. You want to know they’re safe, comfortable, and cared for — not sitting in a cramped kennel waiting for you to return. Pawsitively Love offers something different: a cage-free dog resort where dogs run, play, and rest in a natural outdoor environment.
We’ve been caring for dogs in Palm Beach County for over 26 years. Our property in Loxahatchee gives dogs room to be dogs — trees to sniff, space to run, and comfortable spots to nap after a full day of play. If you’re just looking for daytime care, we also offer dog daycare. If your dog prefers to stay home, our pet sitting service might be a better fit.
What Cage-Free Boarding Actually Means
The term “cage-free” gets used loosely in the pet care industry. Here’s what it means at Pawsitively Love:
Dogs are not confined to individual kennels or runs. They spend their days in open areas, socializing with other dogs and moving freely between indoor and outdoor spaces. At night, they sleep together in a shared room — not isolated in separate cages.
This approach works well for social dogs who enjoy company. It’s not the right fit for every dog, and we’re honest about that. Dogs who aren’t spayed or neutered after one year of age are not permitted in group areas. Dogs who show aggression or extreme anxiety may also be better served in a different environment.
A Day at Pawsitively Love
Every dog’s day looks a little different, but the rhythm stays consistent.
Morning: Dogs head outside to stretch, sniff, and play. The property has mature trees, open grass, and plenty of room to explore.
Midday: After morning activity, dogs rest in the lounge areas. There are couches and comfortable spots where they can nap and recharge.
Afternoon: More outdoor time. Dogs who want to play, play. Dogs who prefer to wander and sniff at their own pace do that too.
Evening: Dinner is served according to each owner’s instructions. After eating, dogs settle in for the night in the shared sleeping area.
The result, as one long-time client put it: dogs go home “pooped” from a full day of activity.

Requirements for Boarding
Before your dog can stay with us, we need to confirm a few things. Full details are available on our instructions page.
Vaccinations
All dogs must be current on Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies vaccinations. You’ll need to bring a hard copy of your dog’s current vet report — we don’t keep records from previous visits and don’t copy documents on-site.
Flea and Tick Prevention
Your dog must be free of fleas and ticks and protected with a veterinarian-recommended flea and tick medication.
Fecal Check
An annual fecal check is required.
Spay/Neuter Status
Dogs over one year of age that are not spayed or neutered are not permitted in group areas. If your dog falls into this category, contact us to discuss options.
Boarding Rates and Add-Ons
We keep our pricing transparent. The base rate for boarding is per day, not per night.

All boarding fees are due before check-in. We accept credit card payments via the “Buy Now” link on our website or cash. We do not accept checks.
A 50% deposit is required within 20 days prior to drop-off to confirm your reservation. If you cancel, your deposit is credited to your next reservation.
Early check-in (8:00–8:30 AM) or late check-out (6:00–7:00 PM) is available for an additional $20.
What to Bring
You’ll need to provide:

Food: In a sealed container (Ziplock bag or similar) with clear AM/PM feeding instructions. No open bags of food.

Medications: In pill pockets if we’re administering them, with written instructions.

Vet records: A hard copy we can keep.

Bowls: Only if your dog uses specialty bowls. Otherwise, we provide them.
What to Expect at Drop-Off
Our property is gated and secure. When you arrive:

Call when you’re on your way so we can be ready.

Wait at the outer gate — do not open any gate that is closed.

An attendant will guide you through the check-in process.

Please keep children close and do not enter any area without an attendant.
This process exists for safety — yours, your dog’s, and the other dogs on the property.

What if my dog doesn’t do well with other dogs?
Cage-free group boarding isn’t right for every dog. If your dog is reactive, anxious, or prefers solitude, we can discuss whether our environment is a good fit. We’re honest about what works and what doesn’t.
Can I tour the facility before booking?

How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking as early as possible, especially for holidays and peak travel seasons. A 50% deposit confirms your reservation.
What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?
The pet owner is responsible for any additional fees for emergency or veterinary care. We’ll contact you immediately if anything comes up.
Can I check on my dog during their stay?

Do you offer long-term boarding?
Yes. We accommodate extended stays. Special pricing may be available for advanced, long-term bookings — contact us to discuss.
What happens if I’m late picking up my dog?
If your pet is left for more than two weeks after the specified pick-up date, we have the right to take the animal to a rescue or Animal Care and Control of Palm Beach County.
