How Pet Sitting Works

Pet sitting isn’t a one-size-fits-all service. The arrangement depends on your dog’s needs and your preferences.

In-Home Visits

A sitter comes to your home for scheduled visits. This can include feeding, walking, playtime, medication administration, and basic care. Your dog stays in their own environment with their own bed, toys, and routine.

Overnight Stays

For dogs who need companionship through the night, overnight sitting provides a sitter who stays in your home. This is the closest alternative to you being there yourself.

What’s Included

Every pet sitting arrangement can include:

  • Feeding according to your instructions

  • Medication administration if needed

  • Walks and outdoor time

  • Playtime and attention

  • Basic home care (bringing in mail, watering plants, etc.)

Requirements for Pet Sitting

Vaccinations

All dogs must be current on Distemper, Bordetella, Parvo, and Rabies. You’ll need to provide a hard copy of your dog’s current vet report.

Flea and Tick Prevention

Your dog must be free of fleas and ticks and protected with a veterinarian-recommended flea and tick medication.

Fecal Check

An annual fecal check is required.

Before your first pet sitting arrangement, we’ll discuss your dog’s routine, needs, and any special instructions. You’ll provide feeding schedules, medication details, and emergency contact information.
